GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- Many of us spend hours per day on the computer, including a lot of time using search engines to find things online. Now you can be rewarded as you do that searching. Carrie Rocha from pocketyourdollars.com joined us on KARE 11 Sunrise with the scoop.

Bing Rewards:  Bing.com, a popular search engine, offers Bing Rewards. You create a free account. You earn points as you search and those points can be traded in for gift cards to stores like Starbucks, Amazon, Target, and others. You can also turn your reward points into a charitable donation. You get 250 bonus points for signing up, which gets you half way to a $10 Amazon gift card. This month, you earn a point for every 10 searches you do with Bing. Whether you are at home, work or school you can log in to your Bing account using the link in the upper right-hand corner and continue to accumulate points in one account.

Swagbucks.com: Swagbucks.com is another search engine where you earn points as you search the web. You get a bonus 30 points for creating a new account. You won't earn a ton through these sites, but you'll get a little something for the actions and activities you are doing on the internet anyway.

Now on to some freebies:

Laptop cases, backpacks and messenger bags: This week, at Office Max stores and from OfficeMax.com you can get up to 2 laptop cases, messenger bags or backpacks free after MaxPerks rewards, which is essentially OfficeMax store credit. You'll need to join the free MaxPerks loyalty program and use that card or number at checkout. You pay for your items now, but will get 100% of what you spend back in MaxPerks rewards. Those rewards are a type of store credit and are issued quarterly. If you present your card, then you'll automatically receive them; there is no paperwork or rebate form to complete.

Free Gold N Plump Chicken Drumsticks or Thighs: Through Saturday of this week Rainbow Foods is selling 24 ounce packages of Gold N Plump fresh chicken drumsticks or thighs for $1.99. Plus, there is a $1 off coupon available for print online. The chicken becomes free when you do your weekly grocery shopping on Saturday at Rainbow, being sure to spend $25 or more, then the value of the $1 off coupon is doubled. You save two bucks on the chicken that costs $1.99 and you get the idea, it's free.

Free Sandwich at Dickey's Barbeque Pit: Now through August 2, you can get a totally free sandwich from Dickey's BBQ. Like them on Facebook, then post a review on their Facebook wall ("I love Dickey's" counts), then print the page and present it at your local Dickey's restaurant. They have 15 metro locations. Of course while you're on Facebook be sure to like KARE 11 as well.
