MINNEAPOLIS -- The State Patrol is looking for a suspect and a specific vehicle after a man was struck and killed on an exit ramp late Tuesday night.
The accident happened on the westbound ramp from Interstate 94 to the Riverside Avenue just after 11 p.m.
The State Patrol says Anousone Phanthavong, 38, of Roseville was filling up his car with gas on the shoulder of the ramp when he was struck.
Authorities say Phanthavong either flew or was dragged 40 feet from his vehicle.
The unidentified motorist that struck him then fled the scene.
State Patrol spokesman Lieutenant Eric Roeske tweeted that investigators are looking for a 2007-2011 Mercedes, possibly model GKL 300, ML 320, ML 350, ML 500, or ML 63.
There was construction in the area but authorities do not know whether that played a role in this accident.
Anyone who may know anything about this fatal hit and run is asked to call the State Patrol.
