MINNEAPOLIS -- The October heat wave continues.  The only day so far this month when we were not in the 80s was last Saturday the first of the month when we hit 64 degrees.  Wednesday we broke an all time record for the date when we soared to 88 degrees.  The record for the date was 87 degrees it held for 132 years.

The ridge of High pressure will hold for another 30 hours and then will start to break down.
Showers are possible late Friday night and again throughout the weekend as the storms from the western areas of the country break apart and push into the area in pieces.

The showers look most likely Saturday night, overnight and remain scattered on Sunday.  These showers will not be the must needed soakers, but will be intermittent throughout the weekend.

Next week also looks warm, but not as warm as this past week, we will drop through the 70s.
The average high next week is 60 degrees.
