SHOREWOOD, Minn. -- A Minnesota state trooper was charged with two counts of DWI after being pulled over and arrested late Saturday night in Shorewood.
According to the South Lake Minnetonka police, 30-year-old Brian Bammert was pulled over on Highway 7 near Eureka Road around 11:30 p.m. Upon further investigation, officers say he was found to be impaired and was arrested.
SLMPD monitored information through dispatch of a hit and run property damage accident that had occurred in St. Bonifacius.
After being pulled over, Bammert exhibited signs of alcohol intoxication and had admitted to drinking. There was also damage to the vehicle he was driving.
Bammert was booked into the Hennepin County Jail Sunday morning on two gross misdemeanor counts of DWI. He posted $3,000 bond and is scheduled to make his first court appearance on November 22.
Back in April, Bammert spoke out about Minnesota's "Move Over" law after being hit by vehicles twice in two months. He was not seriously injured in either incident.
