ST. PAUL, Minn. -- A fatal crash at the intersection of State Highway 52 and Goodhue County Road 9 Tuesday marked the third death in that same spot in less than two weeks.
It also prompted discussion about what are the most dangerous places to drive across the state of Minnesota.
Wednesday afternoon Mn/DOT sent a list to KARE 11 of the state's 20 most dangerous intersections.
Number one is where Minnesota State Highway 15 meets Highway 23/2nd Street South in St. Cloud, followed by Minnesota Highway 55/Hiawatha and East 26th Street in Minneapolis. Filling out the top three is Highway 252 and 66th Avenue in Brooklyn Center.
The rankings are based on a weighted average of crash severity over the past three years. Points are assigned based on collisions that result in everything from a property damage incident to a fatal crash.
