GOLDEN VALLEY - The latest Twin Cities Consumer's Checkbook is out.
"This is helpful information," said Robert Krughoff, with the Checkbook publication.
The bi-annual magazine is a comprehensive guide for local consumers. Through customer feedback, research, and even undercover price shopping, the guide is meant to put the power back in the hands of the consumer.
The recent edition focuses on auto repair shops, hardware stores, and pest-control services. It also compares prices and grades the quality of services of furniture stores and even dentists.
"It'd be a good idea to call ahead and ask what dentists charge for basic procedures," said Krughoff. "We found that for a root canal prices ranged from 600 dollars to to 12 hundred dollars in the Twin Cities."
It's disparities like that that make the "Checkbook" a valuable resource.
"It's nice to find the low-price places that are also high in quality," says Krughoff. "It's saves you money and makes things hassle-free."
