MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - A Minneapolis man has been charged with confronting his estranged girlfriend and threatening to jump off a bridge with their two young children as the girlfriend sought a protection order against him.
A St. Paul Pioneer Press report says 34-year-old Keng Xiong is charged with making terroristic threats.
Prosecutors say Xiong had assaulted his 32-year-old girlfriend this month. They say she went to the Ramsey County Courthouse on Tuesday with her children, ages 2 and 3, to seek a protective order.
The criminal complaint says Xiong grabbed the 2-year-old and threatened to jump into the nearby Mississippi River. The complaint says an attorney heard the girlfriend's screams and confronted Xiong, who agreed to hand over the child.
A message left at Xiong's home Saturday wasn't immediately returned.
