ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The term "Home for the Holidays" takes on literal meaning in St. Cloud Wednesday as dozens of National Guard Troops return from an extended deployment in Iraq.
The aviation specialists are involved in flying and fixing Chinook helicopters. A spokesman for the unit says they flew 800 missions in their tour, moving nearly 50,000 people and seven million pounds of cargo.
The company's six Chinook helicopters reportedly logged more flight hours during their deployment than any other Chinook company that has served in Iraq or Afghanistan.
