BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. - Police in Brooklyn Park are looking into a reported abduction Thursday morning that targeted a female middle school student.
The victim approached a school resource officer at Brooklyn Junior High School around 7:30 and told him that while walking to school she was confronted by an adult male near the 7300 block of Regent Avenue North.
The girl tells police the man asked her to talk with him, and moments later grabbed her by the arm. The student was able to break free and run to school, where she reported the incident to police.
During the preliminary investigation police were able to identify the suspect, located him in Minneapolis and made an arrest.
The suspect is currently held in lockup the Brooklyn Park Police headquarters. Charges of attempted kidnapping could be filed in Hennepin County on Friday.
