MINNEAPOLIS - A Bloomington man was sentenced to 90 days in the workhouse Friday for his role in the hit-and-run death of an 85-year-old woman last October.
Mark Lindgren turned himself in to police weeks after the fatal incident, which took place October 21 near the intersection of Old Shakopee Road and 10th Avenue South in Bloomington.
Dorothy Hanson, 85, was killed when she was struck by a pickup truck while crossing the street after a visit with her husband, who lived at a nearby care facility.
A Hennepin County judge sentenced the 54-year-old Lindgren to 90 days in the Hennepin County Workhouse, along with three years probation. One of the terms of his probation is that he must not use alcohol.
Lindgren was also granted a "stay of imposition," which means if he abides by the terms of his three year probation the felony conviction will changed to a misdemeanor.
