EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Even before the store opened, shoppers in Eden Prairie lined up outside Target in order to be some of the first to get their hands on women's clothing from designer Jason Wu.
"He's a great designer," said Kerry Marrooney, one of about 30 who lined up early. "You can good stuff at an affordable price."
By mid-morning, most of the Wu-designed dresses, separates, handbags, and accessories had sold out. The young designer partnered with select stores around the country for a limited release of some his collection.
Items were also sold on Target.com, but those went fast as well. Prices range from $19.99 to $59.99.
The young designer is best known for dressing First Lady Michelle Obama for the inaugural ball.
In September of 2011, Target released a Missoni line of clothing which attracted huge crowds and crashed the store's website.
