NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Fire broke out at Valleyview Assisted Living and Memory Care in Northfield on Sunday night.
Rice County authorities say all 40 people inside the facility were evacuated. One person had to be assisted out of the building. Officials said they've accounted for everyone.
There is smoke damage throughout the building and residents won't be able to return until Monday.
Assistant Fire Chief Tom Nelson said about half of the residents will stay at a hospital, the other half will stay at a hotel or with family.
Investigators believe the fire started in one enclosed unit.
The facility is located at 812 Linden Street.
