Don't kid yourself: this stuff is treacherous
MINNEAPOLIS - I have been asked so many times and I was very curious myself about what is March like after a warm winter like this one....and what will spring be like?
I looked back at the 12 of the warmest winters similiar to this one and to find out what happened in March.
What I found was that five of them had more than average and seven had less than average for March which is 10.2" of snow.
Three has less than 3" total and the winter of 1965 has 36.1" in March. This brought the 12 year average to 8.35" for March.
I looked at four of the warmest winters Minnesota has had to also see what May looks like. All four had below average temperatures for May. Three of the four had a least a trace of snow.
