ST. PAUL, Minn. - Yet another plan is in play for a new Minnesota Vikings stadium.

The latest idea would build the stadium just east of the Metrodome on a parking lot. Minnesota Public Radio and the Star Tribune report it's a variation of an earlier proposal that required relocating a major telecommunications hub.

The goal of the new plan would be to cut the time the Vikings would have to play at the University of Minnesota.

Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission Chairman Ted Mondale says the plan could have a new stadium as much as three-fourths done before the Dome would have to be demolished.

Meanwhile, Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak has scheduled a press conference for Monday afternoon to unveil a "stadium agreement" plan that was recently hammered out between city and labor leaders, and community partners. The agreements are designed to ensure jobs both during and after the construction of a new stadium.

Having such agreements in place would remove one more obstacle as lawmakers meet at the capitol to discuss legistlation that would build a new Vikings stadium.
