GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - It will be short-lived, but the cold blast residents of Minnesota and western Wisconsin are waking up to Friday is getting our attention!

Only our second real arctic air of the season is settling into Minnesota and Wisconsin Friday, and it's not doing so quietly. Winds are howling from the north/northwest this morning at 10-25 mph, creating wind chills of -5 to -35 across the state as temps continue to fall in the metro.

Temperatures will struggle to pop back up into the low teens this afternoon, and wind chills will remain subzero through the day.

Skies will be clear skies tonight, but the winds will stay, keeping the atmosphere mixed up enough to keep temps from dropping more than they will.

Lows will fall to around zero or a couple degrees below across the metro tonight, with northwest winds 8-15 mph creating wind chills of -10 to -20.

After a frigid start Saturday temps will begin their climb as the arctic air departs from Saturday into Sunday. Expect highs Saturday afternoon back in the upper teens, and in the upper 20s Sunday with 30s pushing their way back in for Monday and most of next week!
