MONTROSE, Minn. - A family member has identified the boy hit by a car and killed while waiting on the sidewalk for his bus Friday morning.
An aunt tells KARE 11 that 7-year-old Hayden Solien was waiting outside his grandparents house for a bus that would take him to school when a car swerved off State Highway 12 and fatally struck him.
Hayden was a second grader at Parkside Elementary School in Buffalo.
State Patrol spokesman Eric Roeske says the boy flew several hundred feet, suggesting the vehicle was moving at an extremely high rate of speed.
The 47-year-old man who was driving the Ford Taurus was also killed when his vehicle rolled after striking the boy.
