GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- A growing ban on the use of plastic bags in some cities prompted a Minnesota native and his friend to develop a new type of reusable grocery bag.  It's not only environmentally friendly, it's also antibacterial - and it's getting its debut in local Cub Food stores.

Jerry Brunskill and Jason Sydney, who both live in the Los Angeles area, came up with the 'Clean Bag' which is coated with a solution called AP-360.  It's created from natural resources that inhibit the growth of bacteria.

"It just adds another layer of defense for the person who kind of wants to take the next step. The first step is using reusable bags and reducing waste. And the second step is our Clean Bags and adding another layer of protection for your family," explained Sydney

The bags are available exclusively at the following Cub Foods stores and sell for $2.49.

Cub Foods - 3620 Texas Ave. South, St Louis Park, MN 55426
Cub Foods - 8015 Den Road, Eden Prairie, MN 55344
Cub Foods - 8432 Tamarack Village, Woodbury, MN 55125
