OAK GROVE, Minn. -- The 9-year-old boy killed in a motocross accident Friday night has been identified.
Lt. Paul Lenzmeier with the Anoka County Sheriff's Office says Nicholas Engler appears to have suffered head trauma after a bad fall from his dirt bike at an Oak Grove track.
Emergency responders including Engler's father, Oak Grove Assistant Fire Chief Robert Engler, were unable to resuscitate the boy.
Lenzmeier says Engler was found wearing the necessary protective equipment for the sport and was an experienced motocross rider.
The Medical Examiner has not yet released an official cause of death.
