1 dead in Hwy. 10 accident in Ramsey

RAMSEY, Minn. - The State Patrol says one man is dead following a two-vehicle accident in Ramsey early Friday morning.

The accident happened on Highway 10 just after 3 a.m. when a sedan traveling south on Riverdale Drive ran a stop sign and was struck by a SUV traveling west on Hwy. 10.

The State Patrol says 20-year-old Badaso Hassen of Champlin died in the crash and a passenger, 19-year-old Carmen Johnson of Coon Rapids is in critical condition.  

The driver of the SUV is being treated for what police describe as minor injuries.

The accident impacted the early part of Friday's rush hour, reducing traffic to one lane in each direction. Things improved after the scene was cleared just before 6:30 a.m.
