BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. -- A dance party moved to a nearby parking lot after a bomb threat prompted an evacuation at the Earle Brown Heritage Center Saturday night.
According to Sgt. Rick Gabler, a bomb threat was called into the convention center around 9 p.m. Armstrong High School students attending prom and the guests of two wedding receptions had to be evacuated. Police say the evacuation was a necessary safety precaution.
Armstrong High School Principal David Dahl says police established a staging area in the parking lot of Target across the street where students were allowed to gather or get picked up by their parents.
After an extensive search of the building, Gabler says nothing suspicious was found.
