BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - No one was injured when a construction crane fell onto a furniture store in Bloomington Wednesday afternoon.

Bloomington police say the crane fell on the Slumberland Furniture store at 7801 Xerxes Ave. South just before 1:45 p.m. Bloomington Deputy Chief Rick Hart tells KARE 11 there does not appear to be any structural damage to the building, but the retaining wall the crane was sitting on is damaged.

The crane was being used at Slumberland to replace several air conditioning units on top of the building when the crane hit the roof.

Hart says some store employees were let back inside the store, but says Slumberland has closed to the public for the day.

City inspectors will have to give the store permission to reopen the store after the crane is removed.
