MINNEAPOLIS - A man is hospitalized after being shot at a library in Minneapolis Wednesday afternoon.
Police spokesman Sgt. William Palmer says the victim was in a bathroom at the Franklin Avenue Library at 1314 Franklin Avenue East when someone came in and shot him in the back.
The man was transported to HCMC where he is being treated for at least one gunshot wound. Police say there is no motive yet for the shooting and add that no one has been arrested.
According to Hennepin County Libraries spokesperson Carla Biermaier, there are no metal detectors in any of the libraries. There are surveillance cameras in all of the libraries, however no cameras are in the bathroom where the shooting occurred.
Hennepin County Library has turned over surveillance tape to police that apparently shows the suspect leaving the restroom after the shooting.
