MOUNDS VIEW, Minn. - A deadly accident closed part of a busy highway in the north metro Sunday night.
The State Patrol says the crash happened just after 8 p.m. on Highway 10 near 85th Avenue in Mounds View.
Authorities say the driver of a Ford Explorer, a 29-year-old Big Lake man, veered out of the left lane, then over-corrected, rolling several times before landing in the right ditch.
The driver died at the scene. His 3-year-old son suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids for treatment.
The westbound lanes of Highway 10 were closed for nearly two hours while authorities investigated the crash.
The victim's name has not been released.
