MINNEAPOLIS - Saying "I do" certainly doesn't come without a price tag. According to TheKnot.com, the average wedding costs $27,000.
There are, however, some ways to save money and still plan the wedding of your dreams.
Here are some dough-saving tips from Rachelle Mazumdar, lead wedding designer at Style-Architects.
- Consider getting married during the "off months" of November-April. Also, consider moving your wedding later in the day and then going straight to dinner so you avoiding paying for a cocktail hour.
- Serve chicken instead of a fillet for dinner. Will save you $15 a plate.
- Cut back on attendees. On average, weddings cost $175 per guest.
