HILL CITY, Minn. - The FBI is hoping clear images from surveillance cameras will lead them to the man who robbed a bank in Hill City Monday.

Witnesses say a man walked into the Woodland Bank around noon, approached the teller counter with a handgun pointed at bank employees and demanded cash. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money the robber fled from the bank.

The suspect is described as a white male, about six feet two inches tall  with a muscular build. He wore a black baseball cap with a yellow and black "Batman" emblem, a white long sleeve shirt, khaki pants, sunglasses, and a bandana over his face.

Police believe the robber also stole a blue Chevrolet Cavalier, license plate number XAT 113 to use as a getaway vehicle. The car was stolen from Calumet, Minnesota, then recovered a few miles from Hill City about five hours after the robbery.

Aitkin County deputies and local law enforcement are busy trying to help battle floods that threaten a number of locations. There is no word on whether that impacted response to the robbery.

Crimestoppers is offering a reward for any information that leads to a conviction in this robbery. Anyone with any information should contact the FBI at (763) 569-8000 or the Aitkin County Sheriff's Office at 1-888-900-2138.
