Stuart Woodman's grilled shrimp and quinoa salad

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Fans of Heidi's restaurant in Minneapolis have more to celebrate. Owners Stuart Woodman and his wife Heidi have opened a new casual dining restaurant on Hennepin's called Birdhouse on Hennepin.

On Wednesday, Chef Ben Mauk and Stuart Woodman stopped by the KARE 11 studios in Golden Valley to do some impressive outdoor grilling.

Here's what they made:

Grilled Shrimp:
1 lbs Shrimp - Shells Removed
1 tablespoon Garlic - Minced
2 tablespoons Shallots - Minced
1 Orange - Juiced
¼ cup Olive Oil
Salt & Fresh Ground Pepper to taste

1. Combine the above ingredients and let marinate for an hour.

Quinoa Salad:
3 cups Quinoa - Cooked and Cooled
3 Zucchini - Sliced, Grilled and Chopped
1 pint Small Tomatoes - Halved
½ cup Basil Leaves - Chopped

1. Combine the above ingredients and dress to taste with lemon vinaigrette (recipe follows).

Lemon Vinaigrette:
3 tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice
½ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tablespoon Shallot - Minced
1 ½ teaspoons Dijon Mustard

Charred Corn and Onion Relish
1 ear of Corn - Husk removed and Lightly charred over grill
1 Red Onion - Sliced in ½" rings and Grilled
3 Scallions - Thinly Sliced
1 tablespoon Parsley - Chopped
Lemon Vinaigrette
1. Remove corn from cob, chop grilled onions.
2. Add Scallions, parsley, and lemon vinaigrette.
