OSHKOSH, Wis. - One person is dead and another is seriously injured after a crane collapsed in Winnebago County.
County Coroner Barry Busby says the person died on the scene and the other person was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. He didn't want to release any information about the victims because their families hadn't been notified.
Department of Transportation spokesman Kris Schuller says a crane was trying to lift a beam on the Butte Des Morts bridge when it collapsed.
Authorities closed down the left lanes in each direction of Highway 41 for about 45 minutes starting at around 9 a.m. Thursday.
