ST. PAUL, Minn. - The 5-year-old boy that went missing on Tuesday near Prescott, Wis., was released from the hospital Thursday.

Scotty Meyer was in stable condition at Children's Hospital in St. Paul where he was treated for dehydration along with treatment for deer ticks and mosquito bites. He was expected to return to his home in the Town of Oak Grove, Wis., sometime Thursday.

Scotty, a boy who is non-verbal and autistic, was found by a volunteer and his dog on Wednesday after being missing for almost 24 hours.

The Meyer family continues to be thankful to the hundreds of volunteers, law enforcement officials and media who assisted in the search for Scotty.

According to hospital officials, the family's priority is to get back to a normal life.
