LAKEVILLE, Minn. - A beach in Lakeville has been shut down due to unacceptable levels of E. coli bacteria.
The City of Lakeville says on their website they have closed the Valley Lake beach because water test results show E. coli bacteria above acceptable levels.
They say re-testing of water samples will occur daily until the levels are acceptable for public swimming.
City officials say to help lower E. coli levels, do not feed geese or ducks, keep pets off the beach and make sure young children are wearing swim diapers.
