DULUTH, Minn. - About 1,750 customers in north-central Minnesota are still without power following two rounds of severe storms in the past week.

Most of the outages Saturday afternoon were in Cass and Itasca counties. Lake Country Power Co. says it might take several more days to restore power fully.

The affected regions were hit hard by destructive winds that knocked down trees and power lines.

Scattered outages also remained Saturday in the Cook area of northern St. Louis County, which was hit by severe weather Wednesday. The utility says it hopes to have those outages repaired by the end of the day.

A Duluth News Tribune report says the outages initially knocked out power to about 12,000 customers on Monday, and another 2,000 customers after Wednesday's severe weather.
