MINNEAPOLIS -- Some scary moments at Lake Calhoun Sunday evening when a suspected drunk driver plowed into several vehicles.
Minneapolis Park Police say the incident happened around 8 p.m. near 36th and Calhoun Parkway, near the south beach.
Witnesses say the alleged drunk driver hit several parked cars and hit one car in on-coming traffic before coming to rest on the side of the road.
Witnesses also tell KARE 11 there were a lot of people in the area and that the driver of the car that hit the others seemed dazed when her vehicle finally came to rest.
"She bounced off my bike, ran into a car in the oncoming traffic lane, bounced off that car and ran into a BMW parked," said Trey Fortner.
Authorities say witnesses kept the driver at the scene until officers arrived. The driver was booked into the Hennepin County Jail Sunday night on suspicion of DWI.
