ST. PAUL, Minn. - St. Paul police have announced the arrest of a suspect in the stabbing death of a man following an altercation on a Metro Transit bus.

Authorities say a brief verbal confrontation escalated as the two left the bus at a St. Paul intersection early Wednesday. Officers dispatched just after 1 a.m. found an unresponsive man and two other people.

Desmond Deshawn Harper, 25, of St. Paul, died at the scene.

A 38-year-old St. Paul man was later arrested. He has not yet been charged.

Police are releasing few other details on the incident.
