ROSEVILLE, Minn. - Roseville police are looking for a man accused of firing a long gun in the back yard of his Roseville home on Friday morning.

Police said a neighbor called to report that the man in his 60s was wearing ear protection and firing the gun at about 8:15 a.m. in the 300 block of Capitol View.

Police responded by setting up perimeter around the suspect's home. A dispatcher called the man, who said he was returning home from an Oakdale business. When asked about shooting a gun in his back yard, the man became defensive and hung up the phone, police said.
Officers searched the neighborhood by ground and air, but did not locate the suspect.

He's believed to be driving a 1993 Lincoln Mark 8. He might also be near a second home in the Chisago area.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 911. The public should not approach the man if he is spotted.

The man could face a charge of reckless discharge of a firearm within a municipality. If convicted he would face up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
