APPLE VALLEY, Minn. -- Police say two people are dead after a shooting in an Apple Valley apartment parking lot.

Police were called to the South Cedar Knolls Apartment complex around 8:30 Saturday morning on a report of multiple gun shots being fired.

According to Apple Valley Police, officers found the bodies of a 41-year-old woman and 41-year-old man lying in the parking lot with apparent gunshot wounds when they arrived.

Authorities have not released the victims' identities, but say the woman was a resident of the apartment complex, and the man was from Dakota County.

Police say they don't believe anyone else was involved in the shooting.
