MINNEAPOLIS -- A conference room full of lawyers hardly makes for a good story. But when that meeting's meat is the fashion forwardness of said lawyers, not legalese, well that's folk lore.

"We call ourselves the society for the advancement of seersucker," the group's chairman, Hap LeVander said.

LeVander and 17 other lawyers have rallied behind bringing back the seersucker garb.

Suits, slacks, you name it they wear them.

The idea, LeVander says, is to get the stuff back in stores so it is easier to find.

LeVander says he has a hard time finding much in the seersucker variety in the area.

He likes it, he says, because it is a much cooler suit for an attorney in court in the dog days of summer.

"Seersucker is very light, air flows thru it much better," LeVander said

It's meant to be fun, but it's legit.

LeVander and his pals want to bring the fabric back in style and back into more stores so when the heat is on like this, there are suits that are bearable to wear.
