MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has issued a crime alert for two convicted felons who escaped from a Wisconsin prison in Black River Falls. Law enforcement authorities believe the two could be headed to Minnesota in a stolen car.
James Misleveck, 18, and James Newman, 29, are suspected of kidnapping a person, stealing a shotgun and four cars and leading police on a high-speed chase over the past couple of days.
The BCA says Misleveck and Newman released the kidnapped woman, who was unharmed. Authorities say Misleveck and Newman abandoned three of the cars and the shotgun has been recovered.
However, authorities say, the two remain at large and still should be considered armed and dangerous.
Newman was sent to prison for violating his probation after firing an assault rifle at his ex-girlfriend's home. Misleveck was imprisoned for burglary, arson and car theft.
Authorities believe that Misleveck and Newman are currently in a stolen 1996 black Chrysler Concorde, Wisconsin license plate 728-TDX.
