MINNEAPOLIS - One man is dead after a car accident near downtown early Friday morning.
Authorities say preliminary information indicates the man was driving north on Interstate 35W and attempted to exit on 5th Avenue when he lost control. The man's car left the roadway and hit a fence and two trees before finally stopping.
The accident happened at about 4:30 a.m.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
Minnesota State Patrol and Minneapolis police are investigating.
