ST. PAUL, Minn. -- A 49-year-old St. Paul man has admitted to fatally stabbing another man in the stomach and neck and his wife in the eyes.

Pah Ber pleaded guilty on Friday to killing 40-year-old Albert Lea resident Po Lye last November when he walked into his apartment and saw Lye sleeping on his couch. He then admitted to stabbing his 40-year-old wife Paw Pree, intending to blind her.

He said he assumed Lye was having an improper relationship with his wife.

He pleaded to one count of second-degree murder and one count of first-degree assault, causing great bodily harm.

The Albert Lea Tribune reports his sentencing is Aug. 31. The maximum penalty is 40 years in prison.
