MINNEAPOLIS - Neiman Marcus says they are closing their store in downtown Minneapolis on Nicollet Mall.
The store will close in July of 2013 according to a news release by Neiman Marcus.
"As it is so rare that we close a store, the difficult decision was based on a great deal of thought, and a careful study of the market as we very much value the relationships we have established in this market," said Karen Katz, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Neiman Marcus Group, Inc. in a news release. "However, the store did not meet our long term operational goals."
The 118,000 square foot store, which has been at Gaviidae Common since 1991, employs just over 100 associates. Those associates will be offered transfer opportunities or receive severance packages.
