MINNEAPOLIS - The Brick nightclub in downtown Minneapolis has a new vibe and a new name.

"We listened to what people had to say and hopefully we've made the right decisions to be successful," said general manager Jeff Kehr.

The Brick will now be called Mill City Nights. The new name is part of a series of changes the venue has made after some bad press last spring.

Fans sounded off on social media following the club's kickoff concert and complained of long lines, overcrowded spaces and an inability to see the stage.

"We learned pretty quick after March 19 that we needed to make some changes," said Kehr. "It's realizing we're more of an intimate venue."

The balcony has since been extended eight feet and includes stadium risers. They've also opened up the entrance to reduce congestion and raised the stage. Management also tells us they will transition from a space that could hold more than 2,000 people to a place that will comfortably fit roughly 1,200.

"I've got a passion to make this place successful," says Kehr. "We are excited to become a premiere place for live entertainment."
