ST. ANTHONY, Minn. - Thousands of things disappear every day across the Twin Cities, taken by thieves for use or resale.

Computers, cars, electronics... the list goes on.

Large wooden bears usually don't find themselves coveted by crooks, but there are exceptions.

On July 15, a five foot, 100 pound Panda bear was stolen from his perch near the front of Wilshire Park Elementary School in St. Anthony. The missing Panda was bolted into the cement, indicating those who stole him really wanted the bear.

It goes without saying that the staff at Wilshire would love to have the Panda returned before school starts in early September. Anyone with information on the bear's whereabouts is asked to call St. Anthony Police at 612-782-3350.
