WEBSTER TOWNSHIP, Minn. - A 48-year-old woman died during surgery after her body was found in a ditch in Webster Township on Thursday morning, according to the Rice County Sheriff's Department.
Authorities say the body of Kimberly Motzko, of rural Northfield was the victim of a car versus pedestrian crash that occurred at about 8 a.m. in the 2000 block of 80th Street West.
Motzko was airlifted from the scene to the Hennepin County Medical Center where she died during an operation.
The 56-year-old driver of the vehicle involved in the crash and his 10-year-old passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The Rice County Sheriff's Office is being assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol.
