DULUTH TOWNSHIP, Minn. - Sheriff's authorities say a 1-year-old boy drowned in an inflatable pool during a large family gathering near Duluth.
St. Louis County Sgt. Wade Rasch says the toddler managed to climb a ladder and get into the pool while no one was using it. The boy drowned in about 3 feet of water.
Family members tried to revive the child before first responders arrived about 6 p.m. Thursday. The Duluth News Tribune says the boy was pronounced dead at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.
