MANKATO, Minn. - Many questions remain about the Minnesota Vikings chances for success on the football field this year, but fans of the team are returning to camp buoyed by other matters.

"I'm just really excited they're going to stay in Minnesota," Stephanie Langhofer said.

Her certainty on the matter stands in sharp contrast to 2011 training camp, when the long-term future of the team was clouded by the approaching end of the Vikings Metrodome lease.

"Now there are no more questions," said Langhofer. "They can move on from the stadium issue and just build their team."

Langhofer plans to be at training camp each day the Vikings are on the field, making the drive from Fairmont as she has done since her parents first took her as a 10-year-old.

"Her older sister Rhonda went to a camp that year and so we were going to take her somewhere and we asked her where she wanted to go and she said to Vikings training camp," said Longhofer's mother, Sue Sanders, who shares her daughter's relief about the stadium deal. "All the hearing about it, I was afraid they were going to move."

Langhofer and her family will get bonus day at training camp this year. The Vikings will spend an extra week in Mankato due to the pending demolition of Gage Hall, which serves as the players' dorm.

Normally players must make way for returning students, but since the hall is scheduled to be torn down, no students will be moving in.
