The Stomp Out Suicide 5K is organized in memory of Alissa Haines, a 15-year-old from Wyoming, Minnesota who lost her life to suicide in 2011.
This 5K run/walk will raise money for materials for local schools, as well as information for grieving families who are coping with issues surrounding depression and suicide.
Proceeds will go directly to SAVE, Suicide Awareness Voices of Education, a national non-profit based in Bloomington.
The event is Saturday, August 25th at Goodview Park in Wyoming, MN. Registration is at 9 a.m. The 5K begins at 10 a.m.
Food, live entertainment and kid-friendly activities make this an event for the entire family.
