MINNEAPOLIS - Some area schools will soon get some help from Allina Health.
Allina is set to announce a grant program, aimed at strengthening the connection between healthy students and academic achievement.
A $10,000 in grant funding will be awarded to each school. $9,000 to support healthy-lifestyle programs or equipment needs in their school, and $1,000 to fund a student-generated idea or program to improve health inspired by a student competition.
Besides the grants, Allina will also bring health resources into schools.
Schools from Minnesota and western Wisconsin can apply for the grant through August 31.
