DULUTH, Minn. - A Duluth TV news director has resigned after a Facebook post that offended several Native American groups.

Jason Vincent resigned Monday from KQDS Fox 21 TV. His resignation takes effect Aug. 17.

The Duluth News Tribune reports Fox 21 general manager Jackie Bruenjes issued a statement saying she accepted Vincent's resignation.

Vincent tells The Associated Press he has taken a new job but declined comment.

While on vacation last week, Vincent posted: "Add drunk, homeless, Native American man to the list of animals that have wandered into my yard."

The post prompted Duluth's American Indian Commission and the Human Rights Commission to call for an apology. The station issued an on-air apology, and Vincent apologized on Facebook.

Vincent had been news director at Fox 21 since 2010.
