ROCHESTER, Minn. -- The Silver Lake Power Plant, which was once Rochester's largest energy producer, will be decommissioned.
The Rochester Public Utilities Board says it's no longer cost effective to keep the 100-megawatt power plant open.
The plant needs substantial upgrades to meet federal requirements for coal-fired plants.
