AFTON, Minn. - The body of a snowmobiler that fell through the ice on the St. Croix River in February of 2010 was found on Sunday near Afton.

Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to the St. Croix River near Windmill Marina to recover the body.

Ramsey County Medical Examiner's confirmed the identity of Timothy Michael Pease on Monday.

They said it is suspected that Pease drowned after falling through the ice.

The Washington County Sheriff's Department had found a snowmobile in the St. Croix River in Feb. 6, 2010.

A 911 caller the day before told dispatchers that a man riding north on a sled on the St. Croix River in Afton likely fell into the water. The caller said the rider screamed for help, but then went silent.

The rescue team used underwater cameras to try to locate Pease, but they were not able to find him. They eventually halted the search.
