STILLWATER, Minn. - The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the Stillwater Lift Bridge is scheduled to close Monday, September 10.
Repairs to the bridge, which spans the St. Croix River between Stillwater and Houlton, Wis., began in July but now crews have to work on steel connections, concrete surfaces, repairing floor beams among other things.
The lift span will open on Sundays only from October 15 through November 5. The bridge will not open again until late December.
Mn/DOT says motorists should cross the river at either the Interstate 94 bridge in Hudson or the Highway 243 bridge in Osceola, Wis.
